OUR SERVICES
OUR SERVICES
We offer many veterinary services to help keep your pet healthy.
BEHAVIORAL MEDICINE
Our practice strives to provide the best comprehensive pet care, including supporting you with your pet’s behavioral welfare. Supporting your pet through behavioral training can strengthen your bond with your pet and improve your quality of life as well as theirs.
If your pet presents unwanted behaviors, whether they recently emerged or have been present since you adopted your pet, we can help. We can provide screening, guidance, training, insight, and treatment for behavioral problems. From anxiety to stress, we can help your pet achieve a better quality of life through prescription and behavioral intervention.
DENTAL CARE
We provide comprehensive care for your pet’s oral health. We can provide your pets with oral health wellness checks, cleanings, polishings, fillings, tooth repair, extractions, and oral surgery. We know that dental pain and problems can go deeper than the gums, which is why we use effective, cutting edge digital dental radiology to diagnose your pets’ dental needs.
We recommend annual dental exams to verify healthy gums and teeth. Regular dental exams and maintenance support a healthy mouth and prevent pain, discomfort, and other health issues.
HOSPICE AND EUTHANASIA SERVICES
Saying “good-bye” and coping with end of life care for your pet is never easy. To help you and your family when parting with your beloved pet due to terminal illness or age, we provide your pet with dignity, comfort, and respect during the euthanasia process.
Understanding the “why” when making the decision to say “good-bye” is important. We emphasize patient education during this solemn time to help you feel more confident and at peace with the difficult choice.
Pet Hospice care can give you days, weeks, and sometimes months to spend with your pet before he or she passes on. Our Hospice services include education on your pet’s health, the possibility of a natural death option, pain recognition, supplemental nutrition, understanding terminal diseases, incontinence, wound care, and the end-stage process. We can also help alleviate your pet’s pain.
VACCINES AND PREVENTIVE MEDICINE
We provide both core and optional vaccines for dogs and cats. The American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) recommends that all dogs receive canine distemper, hepatitis, parvovirus, parainfluenza, and rabies vaccinations. Core vaccines for cats include feline distemper, feline calicivirus, feline herpes, and rabies. Puppies and kittens should receive their first set of vaccines by eight weeks of age. We also offer Bordetella, leptospirosis, chlamydia, feline leukemia, and Giardia vaccinations.
We recommend annual wellness exams for adult dogs and cats between one and seven years old. Puppies, kittens, and senior pets should have more frequent examinations. At each check-up, we record your pet’s weight and temperature, ask about eating habits and exercise and discuss parasite control. Our veterinarians also check for specific health issues, such as diabetes and signs of cancer. You also have the chance to get help with any behavioral concerns.
RADIOLOGY (X-RAYS)
Your pet deserves the best and most thorough care. Our highly trained staff uses the latest radiology equipment and techniques to diagnose your pet. X-rays allow us to see what’s below the surface. Digital X-Rays are a non-invasive tool we use to assess your pet’s skeletal health, organs, and body while providing you with images to better understand your pet’s physical condition for better prevention and treatment.
SURGERY
From our state-of-the-art surgical technology to our extensive experience, we take pride in our ability to perform safe and skilled surgeries for your pet.
For pets and their owners, surgery is stressful. We want you to feel confident that your pet is in good hands during surgery. To make the process less stressful, we communicate with you at all stages and provide extensive education for preparation and aftercare.
ULTRASOUND
We use ultrasound technology to create images (or sonograms) of your pet’s body for an accurate analysis. Ultrasound provides us with a means of non-invasive evaluation of your pet’s physical condition. From emergencies to organ health, we can see below the surface with our ultrasound equipment to provide quality veterinary care for your pet’s wellbeing.
PARASITE PREVENTION AND CONTROL
Parasites can have a serious effect on your pet’s health through infection and disease. We can diagnose and safely treat external, intestinal, and other internal parasites to protect your pet. We can also prescribe preventative medicine to continue to keep your pet and family safe from a parasite infestation.
We treat and offer prevention for fleas, ticks, heartworms, ear mites, roundworms, hookworms, tapeworms, mange mites, and more.
INTERNAL MEDICINE
Our veterinary hospital is fully equipped to offer the best internal medical care. Internal medicine is used to diagnose underlying problems or health conditions that may not be apparent. We can diagnose and treat chronic health problems affecting your pet’s heart, lungs, liver, immune system, bladder, trachea, gastrointestinal system, kidneys, and circulatory system.
Some internal diseases we can uncover include cancer, diabetes, hypo or hyperthyroidism, Cushing’s disease, and Addison’s disease.
SENIOR WELLNESS
Although the age at which dogs and cats are considered a senior can vary by breed, we like to start seeing pets for bi-annual exams around age seven. Like people, older pets have an increased risk of kidney disease, heart disease, cancer, diabetes, liver disease, senility, and general weakness. Staying on top of these issues helps improve the quality of life for your pet in the senior years. Mobility challenges and behavior changes are also more common with older pets.
SPAY AND NEUTERS
Spaying your female pet and neutering your male pet helps to control pet overpopulation. Unfortunately, millions of pets are euthanized every year because there are not enough homes for all of them. Additional benefits of sterilization include a longer lifespan, reduced risk of mammary gland and testicular cancer, no heat cycles or roaming behavior, and less aggressive behavior by both males and females.
